How I log satellites
This may be useful to some. I don't keep an online list of my satellites, as I have lost such lists often enough to make me wish I had used a more permanent method. I keep a small, 400 page notebook. In the front of the book, I have a list of all the Iridium numbers, and pages for recording ISS and other brighter satellites, as well as pages for less visible sats.
At the back of the book, I record the date, time, satellite name and number, path (i.e. NE to SW) and the altitude of the observation. The pages at the back are numbered from the last page inward. When I make an observation, I record the page number of the observation beside the name of the satellite in the front of the book. This is the third system I have used, and so far the best.
